Menopause Cafe December in brief
Dozens of ladies from Belfast and right across Northern Ireland had a great night early in December in the First Avenue café on the Ormeau Road for the latest instalment in the Menopause café series.
The evening started at 6.30pm to allow delegates the opportunity to be hosted in a conducive space that abided by the principles of the Menopause Café: ‘no agenda’ and ‘non-promotional’.
The Menopause café proceedings lasted approximately one hour and then attendees had the opportunity to enjoy blogger Helen McClements, founder of ‘Sour Wee Blog’ and commentator on BBC NI Radio. Helen entertained us with her stories of her past teaching experience and recited an excellent menopause poem which she had written especially for the evening.
The event also hosted Micheala and Laura from Vogue, a local boutique in Forestside. They brought along many co-ordinated outfits from their Italian collection and talked us through the benefits of layers during the menopause.
The December Menopause Café was heralded a great success and it was delightful to see the fun and laughter that filled the room.
Menopause Café are most thankful to Paddy and Shona the owners of the First Avenue café for their support in hosting the menopause café for its December Meet Up.
