Women’s Health Nurse Anne McGale RGN leads menopause awareness session at Allstate Northern Ireland as part of Menopause Awareness Month 2025

As part of Menopause Awareness Month 2025, which this year focused on Lifestyle Medicine, Women’s health nurse and Menopause Trainer Anne McGale was invited to Allstate Northern Ireland on Wednesday 15 October to lead a fireside chat on understanding and managing menopause in the workplace.

Anne McGale, RGN – a Registered General Nurse with over four decades of experience in women’s health, has become one of Northern Ireland’s leading voices in menopause training, delivering awareness sessions to corporate organisations, the public sector and community groups across Belfast and beyond.

The Allstate Northern Ireland session in Lanyon Place, Belfast, combined in-person and online participation, with attendees on site and dozens more joining virtually. The discussion opened with feedback from staff who had previously completed Anne’s Menopause Wellbeing NI CBT to Manage the Menopause course, highlighting the positive impact it has had on their wellbeing and confidence at work.

During the session, Menopause Educator Anne McGale provided an overview of the signs, symptoms and treatment options available to manage menopause, including HRT, alternative and natural approaches, and practical lifestyle interventions. She also demonstrated one of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) exercises from her comprehensive six week CBT for the Menopause course, showing how patterns of thought can influence mood and symptoms either positively or negatively.

“When women understand what’s happening to their bodies and learn practical coping strategies, it can completely change their experience of menopause,” said Anne McGale, founder of Menopause Wellbeing NI. “Sessions like these help build a culture of openness, awareness and support in the workplace.”

Anne McGale, founder of Menopause Wellbeing NI thanks Martina, Lauren and Annemarie from Allstate Northern Ireland for their support in organising what she described as “an engaging and forward-thinking event.”

With more businesses in Northern Ireland now seeking structured menopause awareness and training, Anne McGale continues to promote the message that investing in staff wellbeing is not just good practice but good business.
